What does a titanium hood hardware kit replace?+
A hood kit replaces the visible factory fasteners on the hood: typically the hood hinge bolts and the hood latch hardware, and on some cars the hood release, scoop or vent hardware. Every product page includes a diagram that circles each location the kit covers.

Why use titanium instead of steel hood bolts?+
Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) is about 40% lighter than steel and won't rust. That makes it a good fit for the hood, where the hardware is exposed every time the hood is open.
How do I install a titanium hood kit?+
Install one fastener at a time with standard hand tools, using the diagram and instructions included with your kit. Use a nickel-based or metal-free anti-seize, not a copper-based one. Follow your vehicle manufacturer's service information for tightening procedures (GM owners can find it at acdelcotds.com). We don't publish torque values for titanium fasteners.
